Our Mission
Our mission is to strengthen the Bulgarian event industry through collaboration, knowledge exchange, and professional support. ABEI is committed to raising industry standards, fostering innovation, and creating a stronger sense of community. By uniting the sector's voice, we aim to influence positive change, ensure long-term growth, and showcase Bulgaria’s potential to host world-class events.
What We Stand For
ABEI serves as both a guide and a safety net for professionals in an industry that is ever-evolving and often challenged by external forces — from global pandemics to economic uncertainties. We believe in collective resilience and building an infrastructure that not only responds to crises but also supports long-term development, education, and global outreach.
Join us as we shape the future of events in Bulgaria — together we are stronger.
Live DMA

Associated Member
The Association of Bulgarian Event Industry (ABEI) is an associated member of Live DMA — the only member from Bulgaria.
Live DMA is the European network for music venues, clubs, and festivals, representing over 3,000 live music spaces across 21 countries. It advocates for fair working conditions, cultural diversity, and public support for the live music sector across Europe. Through this affiliation, we are fully aligned with Live DMA’s Ethical Charter, which defines a shared European commitment to a live music ecosystem based on cultural values, solidarity, and artistic freedom — not commercial exploitation.
As Live DMA members, we operate under the principles of:
-
Political advocacy: Championing recognition of music venues and festivals in public policy — from local councils to EU institutions.
-
Social responsibility: Embracing the power of live music to bring people together, support social cohesion, and amplify underrepresented voices.
-
Artistic integrity: Supporting emerging artists, artistic risk-taking, and the free flow of talent across borders — outside mainstream industry filters.
-
Economic sustainability: Defending a balanced funding model that mixes public support and private income, with cultural goals taking priority over profit.
These principles are grounded in foundational international frameworks like the UNESCO Convention on the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, the Fribourg Declaration on Cultural Rights, and the Five Music Rights set forth by the International Music Council. As Bulgaria’s only Live DMA member, ABEI actively contributes to shaping a more equitable, diverse, and forward-looking music ecosystem in Europe.
